Itinerary

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi Arrive in Moshi, where you will be welcomed by Safarhino Adventure representatives. Enjoy an orientation and pre-climb briefing from your guides to review the itinerary, safety procedures, and gear.

Day 2: Umbwe Gate (1,600m) to Umbwe Camp (2,850m) The adventure begins with a scenic drive to Umbwe Gate. After registration, you’ll hike through dense rainforest with occasional steep trails and reach Umbwe Camp by evening.

Day 3: Umbwe Camp (2,850m) to Barranco Camp (3,950m) As you ascend, the scenery shifts from lush forests to high-altitude shrubs. This day is filled with stunning views of the western breach and Barranco Valley, ending with an overnight stay at Barranco Camp.

Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,950m) to Karanga Camp (3,995m) Begin with the famous Barranco Wall, a steep but short scramble up to Karanga Valley. This day provides acclimatization time with breathtaking views and a gradual climb to Karanga Camp.

Day 5: Karanga Camp (3,995m) to Barafu Camp (4,673m) The trek continues towards Barafu Camp. After an early dinner and a short rest, you’ll prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 6: Summit Day (4,673m to 5,895m) and Descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m) Begin the final ascent in the dark hours to reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise. After taking in the stunning views, descend to Barafu for breakfast, then continue down to Mweka Camp for the night.

Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m) Finish the descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate and be transferred back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
